Lincoln Beat - Man shoots ATM with shotgun

This Album Is Headphone Stained Glass

TV on the Radio's teched out new video.

Nice video. That tech seems like it'd probably lead to me being super depressed about the real world though. I'd end up spending 24 hours a day hooked up to my headgear hanging with my digital Vanessa Hudgens.

Battle's Ice Cream

The album comes out June 7. Until then we have Ice Cream, which is a pretty nice, albeit chaotic, sample of what's to come.

I know Apache Relay is all sorts of itchy for this one.

Shake Your Bone Maker?

Robyn turns out hot dance jams like no one else. It doesn't hurt when she is teamed up with the electro/hip-hop/funk team Teddybears.

Give An Honest Review Of Your J-Boys

Junior Boys - EP by High Five and Die

The first single is out from Junior Boys upcoming album.  Be honest.  My review: weak and boring.

CunninLynguists Are Tight

Japan, How Is Your Nuclear Game?

Reports have been pouring out about the Japanese nuclear meltdown, triggered by the tsunami that rocked their country late last week.  A US official has said, "it would be hard to describe how alarming this is right now".  Meanwhile, nuclear safety officials in France are saying Japan has 48 hours to get the crisis under control, or we could see an incident "worse than Chernobyl".  Hurt.

Totally.

I'm with this kid.
Fuck it.

Right? Right.

This is the best thing to come out of Rebecca Black being born.

This works surprisingly well.

Pusha T - Fear of God releases 3/21/11

So yeah, Monday we'll be trunk bumping this all over the spring awakening streets of Omaha. Here's the new video for Cook it Down.

I don't support drug dealing but I guess I'll support drug dealers. Just him though, because he's the only guy that can rap so intelligently about the game. So sharp, that guy. Other people just sound stupid and mean when they try.

Enjoyed Backlash

Racist UCLA Poli Sci major Alexandra Wallace recently went to YouTube to rant about Asians in the Library.  A video that the UCLA administration called "repugnant".

Making herself, UCLA, and the entire caucasian race look significantly more shitty (how are your entry requirements UCLA?).  But luckily there has been some worth while backlash that has come out of this.

Remember Len? Len was rad.

You guys ready to roll those windows down?

Maybe this one isn't super rad but I think a better video would have helped my argument quite a bit. A nice music video goes a long way and Len's ugly friends aren't all that interesting as a concept. It's like watching someone's home videos of their annoying ugly vacation. Also, the band naming themselves Len after a japanese exchange student at their school, who's name was Ren, doesn't seem that cool to me either. That business in mind, I won't promote this one too hard.

I'm not expecting us to dig this out of the archives and play it at every spring/summer BBQ, people wouldn't be down with that. All I'm saying is, we should probably all make a death pact vow that this be the first song we play in our cars when it's warm enough to roll all four windows down for the entire 3 minutes and 47 seconds of this. So get logged into Kazaa and get that download started because it's warming up out there and you don't want to have to kill yourself before you get to enjoy it.

Blondes

almost certainly has to be appreciated on headphones. first cut off a two track ep called "lover/hater." im bout dis.

Why had I never heard about La Bionda?

Check this out.

I know, right? Super rad but I can't find a ton about them on the internets. They are brothers, they are italian, they were mainly recording in the late 70's early 80's, their one big hit was One for You, One for Me, and their name translates to "The Blonde Woman". Those things and they made this song and this video in the early 80s part of that career. Also, you can check out NASA's cover of I Wanna Be Your Lover below, though I much prefer the original.

More TV On The Radio

The TV On The Radio boys have given us another sample of what type of hot jams to expect on their upcoming Nine Types Of Light, dropping April 12th.

TV On The Radio - Caffeinated Consciousness by High Five and Die

Gotta Get Down On Friday

Troy Bolton's main jam.

Japanese High Five and Die

The Japanese are showing us why all we have left to do is high five and die.  Thanks for the reminder Japan.

"The most powerful earthquake to hit Japan in at least 100 years unleashed walls of water Friday that swept across rice fields, engulfed towns, dragged houses onto highways and tossed cars and boats like toys, apparently killing hundreds and forcing the evacuations of tens of thousands."

Remember Tweet? Tweet was rad.

You guys ready for this sexy jam?

How long does it take for this stuff to be that ironic type of cool again? Like, when can I go to a cool party and talk to people about Tweet's career and be revered for my knowledge on her and the inclusion of her hit Oops (Oh My) on my dinner party playlist? I'll just skip ahead to that now, please. Tweet along with all of Timbaland and Missy Elliott's crew. I know stuff from the 90's is cool again but it's 2010 now, right? Let's dig into the early 2000's already.

Alexander by Alexander

So, Alexander Ebert's album, Alexander, is out and it's pretty terrific. Like, just as catchy as when those Magnetic Zeros were helping him out. I'm a big fan of it anyway. Check out A Million Years below and Truth (my favorite) is featured in the backlogs somewhere with a homemade video.

Anyway, dude has come a long way from Ima Robot. They weren't very great and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros were kinda great and this stuff is more great.

Don't sleep on Frank Ocean

Frank Ocean is the only R&B singer in the Odd Future crew but he's doing a damn fine job of representing them in the gentler realm of hiphop. As you might have hoped, it's not your run of the mill R&B, it's way better. His mixtape, nostalgia/ultra, is out now and most definitely worth a listen. Don't sleep on this cat or his crew.

Things I Am Thankful For: #1 Eyes Are Reasonably Distanced

It has occurred to me that there are a shit load of things I am thankful for in my life. While there are a ton of happenings which I could probably gripe about (see: fattest kid in class, ages 10 to 16, directly coinciding with puberty and the peak of E! Wild On) I elect to take a positive view on life. Hence, I will author a list (it may be one, it may be many) of things which I am thankful for. Almost all of them will be petty.

Number one, God made my eyes reasonably distanced from one another. While I might have a larger, triangular nose and a pronounced chin, that shit can be fixed. Eyes too far apart? Good fucking luck.

AMC, you done did it again.

Another really great looking show from AMC. Maybe a little Twin Peaks minus all the weirdness that made that show so great? I'll still take it.

SUSPENSE!

Marketing Success

This is one of the most successful marketing campaigns that I have seen in recent years.  I am about to buy a Reef swim thong just to help fund more commercials.

Another Pusha Cut

Another track off of Pusha T's Fear of God fo' dat ass.

XV – All For Me ft. CyHi Da Prynce, Vado & Erin Christine

Nevermind, we are all going to be fine.

Phew. I get nervous sometimes. You know, it's crazy out there, really really crazy. There are people that spend their money on fake rubber testicles to hang behind their pickup trucks. But then I get these little reminders, I call them Godsmacks, that our world is still moving, progressing, developing. There are children being born every day and they're growing up to be human adults that will contribute and change the world. It's all going to be just fine, right?

Yikes.

Respect and Obey Authority

cmon cmon, respect authority!!!

I'm going to venture a guess and say I'll like Attack The Block

You had me at Shaun of the Dead.

How's your redneck-style crime, Nebraska?

about a year ago, i heard that based on headlines per capita, lincoln was the second strangest city in the country. i didnt believe this till i started keeping up with the lincoln journal star frequently. some weird shit happens there.

Headline: Deputy investigating report finds truck full of naked people

lincoln: nebraska's own little slice of florida.

Charlie Sheen: Drugstep Mix

universes are colliding here, gents.

Mos Def, you awesome.

“I heard Justin Bieber has a 10 inch dick, but it’s in his ass and belongs to Usher."

- Mos Def via Twitter.

Get Your Angsty Electro-Pop Fix

Meet Sarah McIntosh, a 20-year-old Brit known as The Good Natured.  She seems cool.  Like a young Robyn, with the angst of the XX maybe.  Whatever the mix is, I would much rather hear these catchy tunes on the radio than whatever Katy Perry turns out next.

If this Gui Boratto track gets played at any of my rave-events, oh my shit, I will be feeling good.

Let's all get down with Big K.R.I.T.

Big K.R.I.T is new to me. His first album Return of 4 Eva will be coming up soon but for now we have his performance for Yourstruly as well as his first single Dreamin', both pretty great introductions to a rapper that seems to be creepin' on a comeup. The production on Dreamin' is just the slowed down jam that this country needs right now.

Don't sleep on K.R.I.T.

"Catholic bishops have kicked the 'booty' out of the Bible"

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has released its newest, updated version of the Catholic Bible. Some of the highlights from the update: "booty" has been replaced by "spoils" of war, and "virgin" has been changed to "young woman" (eg. Old Isaiah 7:14- "...the virgin shall be with child, and bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel".  New Isaiah 7:14- "....the young woman shall be with child, and bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel") These changes are due to the amount of Catholic school giggles that the old verbiage used to insight.

You Kidding Me BYU?

High Five and Die's Apocalypse Survival Plan (Vol.1)

Go Hasegawa's Pilotis in a Forest via Designboom

When the world we know crumbles, cities burn, and we find ourselves vying for our meals alongside our animal brethren, you might just find us hunkered down six and a half meters in the air in this fortress of survival designed by Go Hasegawa Studios.

Three miles outside Tokyo, we'll be coexisting with post-apocalyptic nature in a plush lofted hideout, it's right up our alley. Also, great sniper vantage point for zombies, mutants, or invasive human clans. Animals too, but the jury's still out on whether or not the whole compound should be vegan.

And just because the Whole Foods is a cinder pile doesn't mean we'll be eating baked beans out of cans. Go Hasegawa included this dope kitchen for cooking whatever food we grow ourselves in our hidden forrest gardens. Rebuilding society never tasted so good.

Come by anytime, just make it really clear you're not a zombie/mutant. And we could really use shotgun shells and chevre if you have any extra.

The Coolest Thing You've Seen Today

Everyone's two favorite childhood obsessions, Star Wars and Lego, combine to turn young fantasies into reality.

"I'd say that he's an angel...dog."

Meet Wall-e, one badass puppy. He was euthanized, declared dead, and thrown in a dumpster. Now the three-month-old puppy is alive and e'erybody wants him.

For Anyone Who This May Interest (I.E. Everyone)

I give you Mila Kunis.  Licking her lips.  Over and over again.

I find this confusing.

i defy you to tell me whats going on in this article, other than "ireland beat england in cricket."

http://www.independent.ie/sport/other-sports/cricket-ireland-beat-england-2563356.html

an excerpt...

Ireland's Kevin O'Brien hit the fastest hundred in World Cup history to sentence shell-shocked England to an astounding three-wicket defeat at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium tonight.
O'Brien (113) came to the crease when damage limitation seemed the best his team could hope for, after they lost three wickets for eight runs to falter to 111 for five in apparently vain pursuit of 327 for eight.
But he responded with an innings of immense power, smashing six sixes and 13 fours in a 50-ball hundred and dominating a stand of 162 in 17 overs with Alex Cusack (47).

even the stadium's name looks like a comical farce of english.

It's That New God Flow

The Strokes are back, pretty.

Under Cover of Darkness.
The boys are back and looking dapper, slick, matured. Except Julian, he still looks like a hungover teenage Mara Wilson.

Hopefully Germany gets this one.

How's your internet, Germany?
